Privacy policy

RunBase Solar Sales is a referral service. The most important thing in this policy is that we pass your details to a solar installer, so it is stated first rather than buried.

In short. We collect your enquiry and give it to a Clean Energy Council accredited solar installer who covers your postcode, so they can contact you about it. We do not sell your details to unrelated businesses, and you can have them deleted by emailing hello@runbase.online.

Who we are

RunBase Solar Sales is a trading name of RunBase. We are not an electrical contractor and we do not design, sell, install or service solar systems. Business name, ABN and registered contact details will be published here before the site takes public traffic.

What we collect

Your name, mobile and email. Your answers about the property: postcode, ownership, roof type and approximate quarterly electricity bill. Your preferred time to be called. The record that you ticked the consent box, and when. Technical information sent by your browser, being IP-derived country, user agent and referring page. Advertising identifiers if you arrived from an ad, being campaign parameters in the link and Meta's _fbp / _fbc cookies where present.

When we collect it

Nothing reaches us until you press the final button. If you leave the form part-way through, we never receive what you typed.

Who we give it to

This is the purpose of the service. Your enquiry is disclosed to one or more solar installers who hold Clean Energy Council accreditation and service your postcode, so they can contact you about it. We receive a referral fee from the installer. Once an installer receives your details they hold them as a separate organisation with their own privacy obligations. We also use service providers who process data on our behalf, being Cloudflare for hosting and the database and Resend for notification email. We do not sell your details to unrelated businesses, data brokers or marketing lists.

Marketing

Ticking the consent box lets us pass your enquiry to an installer so they can contact you about that enquiry. It is not consent to marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list on the strength of it.

Retention

Enquiries are kept while they are commercially useful, typically up to two years, so we can resolve disputes about whether a referral was made. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.

Access and deletion

Email hello@runbase.online and we will tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. We cannot delete what an installer holds, so you will need to ask them directly. We will tell you who received your enquiry so you can.

Complaints

Email us first and we will respond. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Security

Enquiries are transmitted over HTTPS and stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. Access is limited to RunBase staff who need it to operate the referral service.
